The Company

Rail Corporation New South Wales (RailCorp) aims to deliver safe, clean and reliable passenger services. RailCorp provides metropolitan passenger rail services via?CityRail?and long distance services via?CountryLink. ?RailCorp is responsible for the safe operation, crewing and maintenance of passenger trains and stations. They also own and maintain the metropolitan rail network and provide access to freight operators in the metropolitan area.

The Role

The HR Analyst and Support Officer provides business performance information and analysis to assist with determining the effectiveness of human resources management on business performance and in order to develop initiatives for business improvement. The position can assist in any aspect of developing, implementing and/or evaluating HR policies and programs to ensure that they support organisational business objectives, government policy and legislative requirements. It can provide advice and support to business partners and managers on human resources services and programs.

When preparing your application you must demonstrate in writing how you meet the following selection criteria (skills/experience) for the position to proceed through the selection process:

1. Proven capacity to undertake performance analysis with strong statistical and problem solving skills and the ability to produce timely, accurate, critical and predictive reports.?

2. Strong systems, database and computing skills including use of spreadsheets, graphing, word processing and data manipulation.?

3. Sound consulting skills with strong business acumen, well developed analytical thinking and problem solving abilities.?

4. Sound verbal and written communication and presentation skills with proven success at building relationships with key people and the ability to deal with people at all levels.?

5. Self motivated individual with a "can-do" proactive style, the ability to use initiative and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and judgement and a desire to provide excellent service to clients.?

6. Proven capacity to operate both independently, using initiative and self direction, and as a team member to share knowledge and produce consistently high quality work.?

7. Knowledge of best practice and current trends and initiatives in HR management.?

8. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
