Home Design Plus: How Rising Damp Affects Your Home and Health

Designing and improving one?s house does not only mean making it beautiful and accommodating it also means to make you safe from any disease which can be inherited by home concerns like a rising damp. Rising damp happens due to ground moisture that seeps through the brick, stone, cement and other porous sections of your walls. This moisture goes up, evaporates, and gives way for more liquid to be drawn up from the ground, thus producing the revealing watermarks.

Rising damp also causes ugly water marks on your walls and floors. Paint may also be affected along with the stone, brick or cement may show signs of marks of deterioration which can weaken the structure of the house. Affected areas will be moist and damp making it a very likely area of insects to populate which can cause a serious health conditions to you and the whole family.

In the end, action must be done immediately once signs or symptoms of this problem arise. And contacting an expert to treat this condition is a very important factor to be done so that you can make sure that your home will be back to its beautiful state and will have an added safety and strong foundation that will last a lifetime.
